A joint collaboration between IAM Fleet and British Telecom has seen the firm reduce the number of vehicle collisions involving occupational drivers.
Some 50,000 BT drivers have taken part in the online training programme which has cut the number of accidents by 40 per cent.
Interactive workshops, on-road assessment and tuition make up the three-week course, which has been operated by the companies since 2002.
According to BT’s Dave Wallington, the package has made a "significant contribution" to driver well-being.
He said: "The smooth integration of their services into our overall driver safety programme and their ability to meet our very specific needs have been the key elements of this success."
Meanwhile, training and recruitment firm Clearstone has announced its driver of the year, according to Recruiter Magazine.
Shropshire-based Tom Cross, an Aspray Transport employee, took the top prize, it added.
