I'm buying a motor home from someone in Germany. He is using an agent to deal with the sale and transport over to UK. The company he is using is called Allianz-Kauf, they have asked us to pay the full price of the motor home before they will ship it over, where we will have 2 or 3 days to inspect, accept or reject the vehicle. Is this a common practise and is this company well known?

I would never advocate handing over money to someone you don’t know for a vehicle you’ve not seen. If you can’t get to Germany yourself to view the vehicle and handle the import then you might be able to find a UK-based agent to do this for you. It would be best to contact one of the specialist motorhome clubs for advice.
