Expert Opinion

A rare Suzuki entry into the mid-sized family market, the Baleno was in production from 1995 until 2002, when it was discontinued with no successor. With little in the way of excitement on offer, the Baleno isn't a car for rubber burners or speed-freaks, but there is plenty to like in its calm reliability and solid build. There's either a three door hatchback, a saloon or estate on offer, and all provide plenty of usable space. On the road it can feel a little stiff (engine options are either a 1.6 16V, 1.8, or 1.8 GSR), but this comes with its quality, solid build. So, even though it might not be a particularly exciting car, it is one which is sure to last.
