Genesis arrived in the UK in 2021 with a flurry of new models including the G80 saloon and GV80 SUV, which were followed by the G70 and G70 Shooting Brake. However, while these initial models were mainly petrol or diesel-powered, where Genesis has turned a corner is with its electric models like the GV70 Electrified and GV60 Electrified.

Again, these both utilise Hyundai-sourced technology, but that means they’re able to benefit from super-fast charging rates and efficient electric setups which can deliver an impressive amount of range. Up next comes Genesis’ new Magma programme, which takes the firm’s regular models and breathes some extra performance into them with a series of upgrades. It’s believed at present that each model in the Genesis range will get its own Magma variant.

More recently, it was announced that Genesis would be folded into Hyundai, rather than remaining a standalone brand. This means that Genesis models will be included at Hyundai dealer sites and supported by the same aftersales system. At present, the number of Genesis vehicles available on AA Cars is relatively small, but it’s expected that this will increase.
