Some of the top models to come off the Ford production line, including the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus, were among those to feature in a new advert from the manufacturer.
Shot in a London studio, the new pan-European brand television commercial was aired for the first time during the UEFA Champions League final last night between Manchester United and Barcelona.
The chief aim of the advert is to promote the company’s kinetic design styling focus, with the story showing an urban car chase with a twist.
However, although all the cars present appear to be moving in the advert, they spent much of the time still and mounted on electric-hydraulic turntables.
Maureen Graham, Ford of Europe’s director of marketing communications, said: "Not only is this commercial a huge technical achievement for everyone involved, but it also marks a shift in Ford’s advertising strategy.
"We’re not moving away from single model adverts; additionally we’re planning campaigns which focus on key attributes of our brand as a whole."
The advert was shown during half-time of the game, with Barcelona going on to secure a 2-0 win.
