BMW 320 reviews

I love my 320d and bought it after reading constant, consistently good reviews in a car magazine. It's proved very quick when I want it to be but also very economical when driven sensibly too. There's a decent amount of equipment and the in-car entertainment and Sat-Nav is brilliant. Space is good but not brilliant in the back and the boot is decent but not as good as my previous 2 Skodas. In the drivers seat you do not want for anything but in the back there are no seat-back pockets, no cup holders and no 12V power point. When travelling with the kids they do not have many comforts. Overall though, a great car and the best of both worlds - punchy performance but great economy too. A few niggles over space and comfort in the back but as a driver's car, it's hard to fault it.

Like it. Super reliable. Expensive to fix and 42 mpg is a little low these days. Nice acceleration and very safe.

I've enjoyed owning and running my BMW. The only problem I've had is with replacing the turbo twelve months ago, and being rear wheel drive, road grip in snow conditions. A well engineered car. Expensive, but I'll buy another.

Have had my BMW for 3 years and to date have been very pleased with my car, will buy another BMW next time

Very reliable comfortable car but at a cost regarding dealers service charges which are ridiculously high,

My car has covered 157000 miles and the engine runs like new. However underneath the car is another story. In the last 3 years I have replaced all 4 brake discs. front to rear brake pipes. both bottom suspension arms.(worn ball joints) both drop link arms and the front exhaust pipe. The rear suspension and rear subframe are now looking corroded. The electrics have regular intermittent faults which are proving difficult to diagnose Yes the engines run forever shame about the rest of the car. Although I have enjoyed owning a Bmw I would not buy another. They are too expensive to maintain.

One of the best cars of its type, that I have owned. Superb product which is hard to criticise, with one annoying exception which is the silly stop/start function that only comes into play if the (obviously inappropriate) battery has at least a 85% charge - very irritating.

Very satisfied with the car. Performance is great - engine fantastic with plenty of power and torque, and the car holds the road like a limpet when driven hard round bends. Driving position is very comfortable. The extra load capacity in the estate compared with the 3 series saloon is very useful and is also much easier to load. Build quality and materials used inside the car are excellent. The only complaints are: 1. I do not like the run-flat tyres; they make the steering very heavy compared with the previous 3 series that I had, which was on conventional tyres. The tyres are also more expensive to replace. Why did BMW get rid of the space saver spare tyre - surely when you are paying the premium price for a BMW they can throw in a spare tyre!! 2. Although we do not use the rear seats very often, space is a little limited in the rear of the car 3. The "Stop/Start" facility on the car is a gimick - it cannot possibly improve fuel economy by anything more than an unmeasurable amount. Why not save the money provide a spare tyre?

The only problem is that it is a little low, making it a bit more difficult to get in and out when your body is not as flexible as it used to be. The car is an extremely well made with easy access to all the controls, making it easy to drive. The diesel engine makes it very economical, but with the back up of being able to speed up when needed. I have had the car for 2 1/2 years and have only needed to change a sidelight bulb. The car starts even when I have not driven the car for almost 2 weeks. I feel confident when in the car, knowing that I can have speed when I need it, and not thinking, am I going to have a breakdown.

Excessive road noise by reason of run-flat tyres. Uncomfortable suspension giving harsh ride. offset by good interior upholstery. Engine totally unreliable (catastrophic unexplained failure at less than 25000 miles, just 6 months out of warranty, £7000 cost) Will never buy BMW again.

Needed an estate as I do a number of gardening jobs for elderly people so looked at all estates and suvs. Most too small or too large, not many economical. Always had Honda for past 25 years. Tried the BMW, sensible size tales 8 bags of garden waste with my tools. Lovely performance, quiet now the run flat tyres have been changed to Pirelli from Bridgestones. Business package with Bluetooth and satnav excellent. Just been serviced..very expensive, but deal came with 3 years free parts and labour...so sigh of relief when invoice came to £450+ Will change later thisyear to new 3 series GT as it rides higher and is more spacious and wife will not moan about having to bend to get in and hopefully not keep banging her head!!!

Good performance, good fuel economy, excellent comfort, excellent driving experience, very reliable, plenty of room for 4 adults (5 for shorter journeys), reasonable boot space.

After 2 years and 25k miles this is one of the best cars I have owned. I still enjoy every trip in it be it local or a long run. I would buy another BMW.

A very good car

Quite good on petrol, quite a big boot, easy to drive but its sleek appearance is its main attraction. Good acceleration.

german engineering is far superior and im proud to be english .as an ex car mechanic i would only buy german cars mainly
