All Omoda vehicles come with a lot of standard safety equipment, with advanced technologies such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assistance and traffic sign recognition coming equipped on all models. Omoda vehicles also come with a driver recognition system which can detect fatigue in the person behind the wheel and automatically sound an alert.

The petrol-powered Omoda 5 has a 1.6-litre petrol engine which can return up to 37.7mpg during mixed driving. The plug-in hybrid Omoda 9, meanwhile, has a claimed MPG figure of 201mpg, but these figures are generated when travelling mainly on electric power. During mixed driving, it should return around 43mpg, though it has an impressive electric-only range of around 93 miles.

Prices for Omoda vehicles on the used market start from just under £20,000 for a petrol-powered 5 SUV with low mileage. Prices then rise to around £28,000 for the electric E5 model, which is the same basic vehicle as the standard Omoda 5 but with battery power replacing its petrol engine.

Omoda has kicked things off with lots of electrified vehicles, with the electric E5 occupying a key spot in its range. WIth a 61kWh battery, it has a range of up to 257 miles, while a maximum charge speed of 80kW allows for a 30 to 80 per cent charge in 30 minutes. The plug-in hybrid Omoda 9, meanwhile, uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with electric motors. It promises an electric-only range of up to 93 miles, which is one of the longest of any plug-in hybrid car available today.

Omoda has only been selling cars in the UK for a short period of time, so the reliability of its vehicles is as-yet untested. As with all cars, we’d check for a full service history and receipts for any repairs which may have taken place.
