TVR began as Trevcar Motors in Blackpool and developed a reputation for lightweight, front-engined sports cars with rear-wheel drive. The Griffith and Chimaera defined the 1990s range, while the Cerbera, Tuscan, Tamora, T350 and Sagaris took the design and performance further. The Chimaera was the most numerous model, but every TVR is a relatively specialist used buy.
History and condition matter more than age or mileage alone. Look for detailed invoices, regular maintenance and evidence that previous owners used marque specialists. Check the chassis and outriggers for corrosion, along with the cooling system, electrics, hood or roof seals and model-specific engine work. Many cars have been upgraded or restored, so confirm who completed the work and why. A pre-purchase inspection by a TVR specialist is strongly recommended.
