Sitting to the west of London, Berkshire is sometimes known as the Royal County of Berkshire due to it being home to Windsor Castle. Eton College is just outside of Windsor and so adds to the aristocracy running through the county's veins. Along with Windsor, Berkshire is home to Reading, the county's biggest city and home to a number of large IT companies such as Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard, and so is something of a technology hub in the UK. The county offers good road links into London via the M4 and out west, and sitting just outside of the M25, is a popular location for commuters.
