LDV grew out of Leyland DAF’s UK van operation in 1993 and built commercial vehicles in Birmingham. Earlier models include the compact Pilot, larger Convoy and original Maxus. The LDV name later returned on SAIC-built vans such as the V80 and EV80, before the UK range changed to MAXUS branding in 2020.
Because LDV covers vehicles from different eras and ownership periods, check the exact model, engine and parts support before buying. Match the wheelbase, roof height, payload and body conversion to the work you need it to do. Look closely at the load area, doors, suspension and service history for evidence of heavy use. For an EV80, confirm battery condition, charging compatibility and remaining warranty. An independent inspection can help where mileage is high or the van has a specialist conversion.
