Daewoo arrived in the UK in 1995 with the Nexia and Espero, then expanded its range with models including the Lanos, Nubira, Leganza and Matiz. The small Matiz is the best-known city car, while the Tacuma offers more cabin space for family use. General Motors bought key parts of Daewoo’s car business in 2002, and Chevrolet replaced Daewoo as the European badge from 2005.
Most Daewoos now for sale are older cars, so condition matters more than mileage or trim level alone. Check the MOT history, service record, tyres, corrosion and operation of all electrical equipment. Parts supply can be difficult, so confirm availability for routine servicing and model-specific repairs before buying.
