The XCeed offers a broad engine range catering to different needs.
The 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine in the 2026 Kia XCeed produces 118bhp and manages the 0–62 mph sprint in around 10.9 seconds.
Meanwhile, the 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine, available only in the GT-Line S, delivers 201bhp, achieving 0–62 mph in just 7.5 seconds.
Previously, the main petrol engine was a 1.5-litre T-GDi turbocharged four-cylinder producing 158bhp and 253Nm of torque, a 0–62 mph time of 9.5 seconds (manual). A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is also available in these models, and is fairly prevalent on the used market.
For those wanting greater efficiency, there’s a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel (sold until 2023), returning impressive economy and torque for longer journeys. This engine produces 134bhp and can accelerate from 0–62 mph in 10.2 seconds.
The rarely seen plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.6-litre petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 139bhp, delivering a 0–62 mph time of 10.6 seconds and offering up to 36 miles of pure electric driving.
The Kia XCeed delivers a comfortable and predictable driving experience, if not exactly exciting. The suspension is well-adapted for UK roads, absorbing potholes and rough surfaces well. The steering is light and precise, making the XCeed easy to use around town and park in tight spots.

Materials are soft-touch in most of the frequent-touch areas, with robust plastics elsewhere, and the controls are clearly laid out. The elevated seating position and ergonomically designed seats provide solid comfort, with room for four adults or a young family. Isofix mounts are standard on the outer rear seats.
The XCeed offers a generous 426 litres of boot space with the rear seats in use, expanding to 1,378 litres when the 60:40 split bench is folded completely flat.
The boot opening is wide and low for easy loading, and there’s an adjustable floor for extra storage versatility.
In-cabin storage is ample, including large door pockets, a sizeable glovebox, cupholders, and a central console bin on higher trims.
All XCeed models are well-equipped, with the ‘2’ trim offering air conditioning, DAB radio, Bluetooth, LED headlights, cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking.

The Kia XCeed is available in four distinct trims: ‘2’, ‘3’, ‘GT-Line’, and ‘GT-Line S’, each tailored to different driver needs and budgets.
The entry-level ‘2’ trim provides a good basic specification, including LED headlights, steel wheels, and air conditioning, along with essential safety features such as autonomous emergency braking and lane keeping assist.

The more recent 1.0T variant is powered by a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, with fuel efficiency figures of 47.9-49.6mpg (WLTP).
Meanwhile, the 1.6 automatic model with dual-clutch transmission has decent fuel economy of around 42.8-44.1 mpg (WLTP).
Insurance is competitive, with groups starting from 10, and servicing intervals are every 12 months or 10,000 miles. Kia offers a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, among the very best on the market.
