The Toyota Corolla Verso has been named the best small MPV at the Fleet World Honours 2007.
According to the automaker, the award is presented to companies and manufacturers who have attained "the highest possible level of excellence" in their sphere of business.
Tim Copland, general manager of Toyota Fleet, said that the company was "delighted" to be receiving the award and said that the Verso will remain competitive in the small MPV segment following specification changes due shortly.
Ken Rogers, editor of Fleet World, said: "This segment of the market continues to grow but Toyota’s Corolla Verso’s clever packaging and interior versatility continues to win customers in the showrooms.
"Compact on the outside, Verso is accommodating on the inside – and quality is excellent."
Alan Cole of Glass’s car guide said that demand for the model is currently "very strong indeed" with buyers eager to hold on to their vehicle and second-hand examples difficult to find.
This factor combined with Toyota’s image for reliability adds up to "very firm residual values", Mr Cole added.
