Massa counting on superstition and home support to help him win title

Formula One race ace Felipe Massa is hoping that superstition and home support will help him win the Brazilian Grand Prix and clinch the drivers’ championship.

The Ferrari driver needs to win the race and hope Lewis Hamilton fails to finish in the top five in order to be crowned champion. If Massa is second, Hamilton would need to finish out of the points.

"I have a superstition with my underwear, which is the same on Saturday and Sunday," Massa said. "It’s going to be the same one again."

Hamilton might also be taking an unorthodox route to preparing for the season’s climax, with reports suggesting that he has had talks recently with celebrity psychic spoon-bender Uri Geller.

But it is home support rather than witchcraft, hypnotism or underwear choice which is likely to be a more vital factor.

"The pressure from the fans only helps," commented a confident Massa.

In other news, AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson has told Absolute Radio that he is preparing for the band’s forthcoming Black Ice world tour by using a Formula One fitness coach.
