VCARs driver Tom Sharp continues to dominate The Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup standings after a successful Donington Park weekend saw him secure two wins and a second place finish.
Sharp, who had won Round One’s previous three races (Brands Hatch), dominated Race Four and Five before Tom Ingram notched his first success in Race Six.
In Race Four, Sharp landed the win in relatively damp conditions as the field behind him swapped second place. In Race Five, Sharp edged away early on as the top three spread out. Sharp held a comfortable lead, but saw this wiped out when the safety car appeared. VCARS.co.uk-backed Sharp controlled the restart and led the remaining laps to cross the line for his fifth consecutive win. In Race Six, Tom Ingram pipped Sharp to first place, however, the 20-year old VCARS man now stand a staggering 66 points clear in standings
Sharpe commented: “We’re really happy. You can’t expect to win them all and we don’t expect to win them all. Second was better than I expected, and delighted, two firsts and a second, we can’t do much better than that really.”
