A leading campaigner has called for Severn Bridge Crossing tolls to be maintained at their current £6 level and be used to develop Welsh roads.
Elizabeth Haywood of the South East Wales Economic Forum has told MPs it was ‘highly likely’ that the £6 charges incurred by each car would be reduced to £1.50 when the Welsh Government took over its running in 2017. Haywood told MPs that the tolls must remain to guarantee Wales’ infrastructure, maintain the crossing and unlock investment.
