When I applied for car insurance, a question that needed to be answered was "How long have you had this licence?". I only arrived in the UK in February last year and changed my South African licence for a UK one. My query is, does my South African time count (50 years). Many thanks

Does my driving time in South Africa count when applying for insurance in the UK?
The question relates specifically to your UK licence but you should tell a potential insurer that you have held a driving license in your home country for many more years as some UK insurers will take this into account.
Some will take any no-claim bonus you earned back home into account too.
It’s best to talk, either direct to an insurer or to an insurance broker rather than rely on on-line applications where circumstances are unusual.
