Expert Opinion

The Kia Magentis was first launched in the UK in 2002, and was the original name of what is now known as the Kia Optima. Much has changed the very first model however, and while the Magentis might now pale in comparison to its modern incarnation, there's plenty to entice. Practicality is one of its strongest assets, and with a 452 litre boot and plenty of interior cabin room, it has plenty of usable storage space as well as comfortable passenger room. Its drive isn't overly dynamic, but it is comfortable and refined, while its 2.0 litre diesel engine is relatively frugal. While it might not set the heart on fire, the Magentis is a competent and affordable car.
