A very good car overall. Only disappointing feature is poor air conditioning. Strange for a ' luxury ' model with leather seats etc.

I love the passat, its spacious, comfortable and practical. its very easy to drive and just eats up the miles on a motorway just cruising along. plenty of space to fill when going camping and a cavernous boot for shopping etc. no problems with the car its been a pleasure to drive since first getting.

I purchased the Highline version of the Passat Estate. My previous car was a Passat Estate and I liked the space and the performance this car offered. Both cars were turbo-diesel powered and gave a good performance with economy. My first Passat was a manual, which was fine but I decided to go for the 6 speed automatic gearbox for my second. The combination of a powerful diesel engine coupled to an automatic gearbox makes the Passat a delight to drive. Plenty of performance, and even with the estate body it is reasonably quiet. The leather seating is comfortable and allows long journeys without too many stops - 450 miles to Scotland with just a couple of stops! The running costs, including servicing, are very reasonable. I take my car to the local Volkswagen show-room/garage when required and I have found they are very competitive. All in all I have been very happy with my Passat and will be looking at buying a new one in a couple of years

After 3 months I'm impressed with the space, comfort and performance, running costs are only a little better than the previous model Passat (2005) I had for many years. I'm disappointed that overall it doesn't drive as nicely and isn't as good a car as the last one, albeit 5 yrs and 100,000 miles newer.

I purchased the Passat estae to enable me to carry larger loads, it is ideal for this and provides a fairly economical and comfortable form of tansport

Have owned 3 passats in last few years and cannot speak highly enough of them we travel to spain twice a year therefore covering quite a few miles per day and the comfort and performance of the car is first class

I have had the car for over 12 months and have been very pleased with it. It is roomy and has a large boot area. Its very economical ( I get over 60 mpg on long runs and about 40 around the town) It is comfortable but the rear leather seats cause complaints for being cold by passengers (the front two seats are heated) It is everything I want in a car except for the lack of a handbrake. It has taken a long time to get used to the electrical alternative and I still have qualms about getting away safely when stopped on steep hills eg at traffic lights

This vehicle has never broken down, it returns 35 to 40 miles to the gallon around town and just over 50 miles to the gallon on long motorway journeys. Fuel duty and road tax are what makes driving this vehicle expensive. Air conditioning and heated Nu-Buck seats keep the cabin area comfortable regardless of the external environment. It has ample power and good acceleration. Folding down the rear seats provides a large space for carrying goods.ABS braking and EDL on the transmission makes for very stable and safe driving in difficult weather conditions.

My Passat is really expensive to run. on average im getting 25 to 30 MPG which isnt great. It is a quick car and a nice smooth ride. The maintenance cost arent to bad if you use a local dealer you trust but stay away from high street maintenance firms their a rip off. one upside is though they are cheap to buy i picked up this 2004 executive model for 1500 from a used but as i say be prepared to pay thru the nose for petrol and car tax. insurance cost are average.

I purchased my Passat Estate from my daughter nearly 5 years ago and although nearly 13 years old it is still a reliable economical vehicle. After 174500 miles with the same engine it averages around 50 mpg. I prefer estates because of their all round usefulness and this is definitely the best one I have owned in over 60 years of motoring.

A pleasure to drive but problems have been experienced with the EPB button (replaced f.o.c. after warranty) and injector failure - subject to a later recall and replacement f.o.c. Also an expensive £500+) failure of a fuel management related component. Otherwise economical, comfortable and practical.

Good looks, reliable, comfort, what's not to like? My model is a bit basic but you get what you pay for. I will probably upgrade to a newer model with more gadgets next time.

Owned from new, the car has now done 275000 miles with only routine repairs and replacements. It is still comfortable if a little noisier and is so versatile I do not intend to replace it until major repairs would make it uneconomic.

It never fails to start no matter what the weather and apart from a yearly service needs very little maintenance so has been a very economical car.

Great economical engine. Adequate performance and reliable but let down a rubbish and troublesome electronic handbrake. New ones have been sorted but 2005-07 models are problematic. I am not overweight but drivers seat foam broke up and back support packed up. Air-com fan makes a clicking noise that the dealer could not fix so I get an intermittent clicking under various settings. Otherwise the car has taken me trouble free, all over Europe on a few occasions.

Very pleased with levels of comfort, performance & practicality. Still drives like a new car even though it has done 150,000 miles.

Bought second hand 18 months ago with 32000 miles on the clock. Have had 2 M O Ts and not had to spend a penny or had any advisories. Cam belts and tyres only cost to date. Very pleased with car and performance and economy. Really pleased

UI have never had a VW before but this is fun to drive and very responsive. Not too bad on petrol and extremely comfortable.
