The Skoda Superb has scooped German-based magazine Bild am Sonntag’s Golden Steering Wheel award in the Medium Class category.
The prize is recognition for the car’s driveability, roominess, value for money and build quality.
Features that impressed the panel of judges included its well-balanced proportions, innovative technologies such as the Twindoor system, nine airbags and driver knee airbag.
Europe has clearly fallen for the charms of the Skoda Superb. The vehicle has been named Best Looking Car in Poland, Best Company Car in Croatia, Car of the Year 2008 in Latvia and Company Vehicle of the Year 2008 in Germany.
"The Skoda Superb embodies Skoda brand values – roominess, value for money and simply clever solution," said Skoda auto chairman Reinhard Jung.
The awards should help make the job of used Skoda dealers even easier.
