Lotus inspires new supermini to the market

Classic British car manufacturer Lotus has inspired the creation of a new supermini – the Proton Satria Neo.

This new car from Proton, which is part of the Lotus family of automakers, is available with a choice of 1.3-litre or 1.6-litre engines.

The vehicle’s exterior styling displays the clearest input from Lotus, with a boldly sculpted front section, detailed bumpers, ‘tiger eye’ projector headlamps and a stylish grille.

On the inside, further Lotus influences can be seen, with a modern layout creating a sporty feel and a spacious cabin also enhancing comfort and practicality.

An air conditioning system comes as standard on the 1.3 range with climate control in the 1.6 line, as well as a Blaupunkt radio with a CD player, offering mp3 compatibility.

Brian Collier, managing director of Proton UK, said: "The Satria Neo will give new and existing customers trusted Proton reliability combined with sleek Lotus design and smooth ride and handling, all accompanied by our reputable customer service."

Simon Wood, engineering director for Lotus, said he was "proud" of the new car and its "striking design, dynamic performance and driver enjoyment".
