Hybrid Lexus hits dealerships

The new hybrid from Lexus has a performance described by the automaker as "technically peerless".

Featuring a 5.0-litre engine which incorporates a high-output electric motor, the LS 600h is the world’s first all-wheel drive hybrid vehicle with V8 powertrain technology.

In addition, the on-board entertainment offered in the car as well as its "supreme comfort" make it just as impressive on the inside as it is under the bonnet.

The model went on sale in the UK on Monday October 1st 2007 and has proven so popular that order leadtime now extends into the spring – that’s if drivers can pay out the starting price of £81,400.

Lexus commented: "The LS 600h sets new standards in luxury motoring, ensuring owners enjoy supreme comfort, convenience and on-board entertainment."

The Lexus luxury car brand is a subsidiary of Japanese firm Toyota and was founded in 1989 by Eiji Toyoda.
