An 82-year-old great-grandmother has said that she is "on cloud nine" after passing her driving test for the second time.
Audrey Humble from Newton Aycliffe in County Durham, first passed her driving test in 1961- when John F. Kennedy was US president and Tottenham Hotspur won a league and cup double.
The reason she had to take it a second time lies in the fact that a judge took away her licence in 2006 after she ended up on the wrong side of the A167 and collided with a delivery van.
She was also fined £1,000.
After intensive lessons from son John, 57, Audrey passed an extended test last week, giving her the freedom to go back on the roads.
She was quoted by the Sunday Sun as saying: "I passed my theory test with 49 marks out of a possible 50, which does show the old grey matter is still working.
"This week I took my practical test and also passed at the first attempt."
