Vehicle details
Dacia Duster 1.6 SCe Essential 5dr Petrol Estate, , The Dacia Duster is a mid-size SUV you can pick up for the same price as a low-end city car. That means it has an immensely diverse set of rivals. In some ways it competes with a Nissan Qashqai, but in others, it competes with a Hyundai i10 or a used Ford Focus. Like all Dacias, the Dusters main selling point is its incredible affordability, but it also throws attractive styling and a roomy cabin into the mix as well. You do have to make a few sacrifices in quality, technology and dynamic polish to get that affordability, but the sacrifices arent as severe as they were with the previous Duster, and most are worth making. With the previous Duster, interior quality was one of the biggest sacrifices you had to make for such a low price tag. You do have to compromise a bit with the latest car, but nowhere near as much as before, and it's still a reasonably pleasant place to sit. All the plastics are hard and a bit basic, but theyve got a nice matt finish on them which makes the car feel better than bargain-basement. The ergonomics when it comes to switches and the infotainment touchscreen are decent, and the seats are comfortable, supportive and have a good level of adjustment (provided you avoid the entry-level trim, that is). Getting comfortable at the wheel is a doddle, and all-round visibility isnt too bad, either.
