Unlike numerous ''breathed on'' pretenders the Zulu Defender has been re-engineered by performance specialists JE Engineering. JE has a long history of producing competition engines for several different classes of motorsport including Drag Racing, Touring Cars and Off-road racing, having supplied engines for Bowler's highly successful Wildcat off-road racing cars from 2003 onward, and Land Rover's Paris Dakar team from 1985-1987. This isn't a standard engine that has been remapped, this is a bespoke Zulu drivetrain with upgraded gearbox, diffs, prop shafts, brakes, suspension and exhaust., ''Zulu'' Land Rover Defender 110 JE Engineering ZULU, 1 of only 12 built., 2008, Automatic, 7 seats, tow bar, Kenwood Sat Nav and head unit, Engine, 4.2 Supercharged V8 Petrol built and uprated by JE using high spec larger valves, gas flowed cylinder heads & inlet manifolds, upgraded supercharger pulley, Y section exhaust with twin high-flow cats and custom ITG Induction system, all controlled by a bespoke ECU., Output: Approx 480BHP, Torque 550nm (406 lbf.ft) at 2500-4500 Rpm, Transmission : Reinforced ZF 4 Speed Auto driven through uprated transfer box., Quaife Torsen LSD Rear & pin type Front (pegged), Heavy duty half-shafts & universal joints fitted.
