Infiniti… and Beyond

Infiniti have announced that they will show their new electrically-powered executive model at The Paris Motor Show which takes place between 29th September and October 14th

In terms of length (4.7m long) Infiniti’s LE Concept is not dissimilar to the company’s Infiniti G Saloon.

Under the hood, the differences are a little more evident.

The battery in Nissan’s green car is a proven laminated 24 kWh lithium-ion (Li-ion) design. Circumnavigating the problem with powering up electric cars, the battery in the new 132 bhp Infiniti can get to 80% of it charge capacity in just 30 minutes.

Perhaps even more impressive is the possibility of wireless recharging being added to Infiniti’s new motor. Drivers of the Infiniti LE will drive over a pad and wireless contact automatically made. Wireless charging is thought to be the future of electrics and, clearly, has much implication in the modern home. For the Infiniti, high-frequency, non-contact charging is controlled inside the car or by personal smartphone. The technology is perfectly safe for kids and pet and can be installed in domestic garages.

Bernard Loire, Vice President of Infiniti Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, is confident the LE will be on streets in 2014:

“The Infiniti LE Concept is a ‘production intent’ concept and most of what you see will become a reality.”
