1969 G' registered with 36, 700 miles showing (Cannot be verified) although the last owner had it 40 years and recons it's genuine Lotus White with a Sherwood Green Stripe, Black Vinyl Seats and 3 Spoke Leather Rimmed Steering Wheel.There are some old tax disks and mots he maintained it himself and also has plenty of old photos of the car really good to have it's also complemented by a DVLA owners check list This particular 'Lotus Cortina' comes with the log book change from 1986. We have had the car inspected by The Lotus Cortina Register and they confirmed that it is a Genuine 1968 MK2 Series 1. 5 Lotus Cortina , and all items present under the bonnet, including the Original Air Cleaner Assembly, Correct Girling MK2a Servo. The Dynamo has been upgraded to an Alternator with wiring changed to accommodate. It even has the weather strip which is often missing on these cars. The wheels are after marker ones brand new as are the tyres The bodyshell looks to be in Exceptional Condition all round with no rust showing and presents amazingly underneath. The engine sounds fabulous. The interior is fabulous fresh from a full Retrim including carpets seats and head linning All in all, a very solid example which looks fantastic from every angle and an ideal Collectors car. The MK2 Series 1. 5 'Lotus Cortina' was built using the heavy duty and already rally successful MK2 GT Body shell with Anti Tramp Bars on the rear and rolled wheel arches at the front to accommodate the wider wheels. 2 Prototype GT's were sent to the Boreham Plant to be developed into the Cortina 'Lotus' where the suspension was also developed, lowered by an inch and upgraded, and the car fitted with radial tyres.
