How to value your car before selling | AA Cars

Whether you’ve had a change of lifestyle or you’ve got your eye on a different model, there’ll come a time when you need to sell your car.

And you’ll want to get as much money as possible for your vehicle as possible.

It’s not always easy to know how to price your vehicle, and there’s a lot you need to take into account before you start.

And you don’t have to do it on your own either. There are firms that offer to do that for you, including our own service, which provides a free valuation – but more on that later.

Here’s what you can do to get the right valuation for your car.

Check online marketplaces

You’ll often be able to find a similar model to yours on a vehicle selling platform. Compare these with your own car to gauge how much you can sell it on for.

By looking at the mileage, specification and condition, you should be able to work out how much you should be charging.

Use online valuation services

But if you don’t want to spend time trawling the classifieds, you can use online valuation services. Enter your vehicle’s registration and mileage to see how much you can get for your vehicle.

This helps you put your vehicle on the market at a more suitable price. You’ll then reduce the likelihood of selling the car for less than you might want. Bear in mind that customers will be attracted more to a model that’s sensibly and realistically priced.

Our valuation service

Our vehicle valuation service gives you all the benefits of an online valuation. But with the help of Wizzle, a free car selling and advertising service, you can also get a free listing created for you, as well as display your vehicle to multiple dealers to see if it takes their fancy.

By advertising it to dealers, you can receive multiple bids and if you feel one of the prices is right, you can sell it on to one of them. If you go ahead, you’ll receive full payment from the dealer and home car collection – making the vehicle selling process hassle-free.

But you don’t have to sell. You’re in complete control of the process and if you’re not happy with the offers provided, you can take what you’ve learnt and apply it yourself.

If you need any help during the process, the sales advisors team is always on-hand to assist you. You can call them on 01202 835 991, or email them on [email protected].
