Range Rover 2012 First Look

Ahead of a showcase at the Paris Motor Show on September 29th, Range Rover have revealed pictures of their 2012 model which is lighter, greener and more luxurious than ever before.

Thanks to a switch from steel to aluminium, the Range Rover is an astonishing 420kg lighter than its predecessor – that’s around 20% of its total bodyweight. The result is a more economical, and greener drive. There’s a TDV6 or TDV8 engine on offer, housing improved CO2 emissions. The lighter aluminium structure also provides 120mm more rear legroom while soundproofing has been upgraded. Internally, the hide, veneer and Meridian premium hi-fi are standard.

The 2012’s alloy wheels mirror the Evoque, part of an all-together more aggressive design. Slimmer headlights on the front and rear are more aerodynamic and sleek. A contrasting roof offers a ‘floating look and increasingly vibrant exterior colours have been added to the range.

The new ideas, design and green credentials won’t come cheap: the 2012 Range Rover is expected to set drivers back around £125,000.
