About Smart Lease
Use of the car up to your mileage limit

Fair wear and tear repairs up to a maximum of £500 at the end of your lease – if the identified damage repairs exceed £500, you'll be charged the full amount

The monthly price is calculated by:
Car chosen by you
Mileage you expect to drive each year
Number of years you want to lease the vehicle
You're responsible for:
Fuel plus any fees or fines, such as parking permits, parking fines or speeding penalties
Cost of breakdown cover for the term of your lease, or pay the recovery costs directly
Administration charges specified in your contract if you have an accident
Obtaining European Breakdown Cover and providing evidence of this, if you wish to travel abroad
A one-off arrangement fee payable at the time of ordering the vehicle
When you submit an application, it's then forwarded to LeasePlan.
They'll contact you within 2 working days to discuss your application.
After you've given the required information there's a scheme eligibility check, which includes a credit check.
We'll then provide a document confirming the answers you've given so far, and you must check all the details are correct.

Once you're accepted, you'll receive the agreement which can be signed digitally.
After the statutory 14-day cooling-off period, your car will be ordered from a dealer and the delivery date will be confirmed,
Finally, the dealer will arrange delivery to you.
No, you don't have to pay a deposit.
To be eligible for Smart Lease you need to be an AA Member for more than 1 year, and pass the scheme eligibility check.
This includes a credit check, which determines whether you meet the affordability commitments, and provides insight into credit and financial risks.
Please note, this is a hard credit check and therefore it will appear on your credit file. You can find out more about the credit check in the LeasePlan privacy notice.
You need to be over 25 and under 75 years old, hold a valid UK driving licence and be resident in the UK.
After you've signed the agreement and the cooling-off period has expired, your car will be ordered.
Delivery time varies from 2 to 8 weeks, but you'll be given a more accurate date at the point of ordering.
You are entering into a financial obligation for a set duration which is non-cancellable.

LeasePlan UK is also a member of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) and follow its code of conduct for members of the leasing community.
You can add your spouse or partner as a named driver, so long as they live at the same address as you. They must have a full UK driving licence.
Yes, you're allowed to fit accessories or winter tyres provided they don't cause permanent damage.
