Sweet Sixteen? – Hyundai announce i30 Tourer price

The new Hyundai i30 Tourer will start at £16,195 and arrive in the UK on 23rd July, the UK arm of the South Korean car company has announced.

The i30, competing in the small family car sector (or C-segment to those in the industry), will offer up to 528 (seats up) and 1642 litres (seats down) luggage space which is more than the Ford Focus or Volkswagen Golf.

President and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK Tony Whitehorn commented:

“The i30 Tourer is able to meet the demands of both retail and fleet customers as it offers space and versatility along with a range of clean and fuel efficient engines. Running costs are also substantially lower, not only compared with the outgoing i30 Estate, but with key competitors too. Owners benefit from improvements to fuel economy and emissions plus VED and Benefit in Kind and some of the lowest insurance ratings in class.”

The i30 will offer a 1.6litre 120PS petrol unit or 1.6 CRDi diesel (110PS or 128PS). Both engines can house six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

There are four levels: Classic, Active, Style and Style Nav.

  • Classic will feature Bluetooth and voice recognition, multi-function wheel and AC as well as body coloured handles/mirrors and LED daytime running lights.
  • Active (starting at £17, 295) adds alloys, cruise control, parking sensors (rear), rear electric windows and leather wheel/knob.
  • Style (starting at £20,095) adds dual zone climate control, auto headlights, rain sensing front windscreen wipers (crucial for a British summer), front parking sensors and auto folding door mirrors.
  • Style Nav (starting at £21,095) adds touch-screen navigation and rear parking camera.
