Test day approaching for the new Volkswagen Golf GTI

Journalists will be among the first to sample the new Volkswagen Golf GTI, as it is to be available for a test drive before it is released for the whole market to enjoy.

The official launch date for the new GTI is May 22nd, but the media can get a taste of the vehicle by arriving at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ (SMMT) Millbrook Proving Ground for a test day.

This event is occurring the day before the vehicle’s official launch, with visitors getting the opportunity to test some of the car’s changes over past models.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is powered by a new 2.0-litre TSI engine, while unique springs and dampers have been used to lower the suspension and improve a driver’s on-the-road experience.

Meanwhile, in terms of appearance, the car has been given a more aggressive front bumper, which sits just below a new front grille.

Other key features of the Golf GTI is the inclusion of front fog lights, rear tinted windows and a uniquely-shaped rear spoiler.
