The Mark 6 version of the Volkswagen Golf GTI includes a number of key features which help it to elicit a "must have" feeling in some of its fans, it has been revealed.
In a review for the Independent, Sean O’Grady writes that the Mark 6 Volkswagen Golf GTI successfully blends practicality and performance to set it apart from competitors which include the Skoda Octavia VRS, Vauxhall Astra VXR, Honda Civic Type R and Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works.
He also comments on the "intelligent eagerness of the dual clutch semi-auto gearbox" – although a six-speed manual is also available – and the fact that the model retains much of its aesthetic appeal.
Other features include fuel consumption of 38.2 mpg; CO2 emissions of 173g/kg; a top speed of 147 mph and a zero-to-60 time of 6.9 seconds.
Potential Mark 6 Volkswagen Golf GTI buyers can also look forward to a GTI styling pack, rear tinted windows from B pillar back and a uniquely shaped roof spoiler.
