Volvo to strengthen range at Geneva

Volvo has announced that it will be strengthening its product offering at the Geneva Motor Show this year, with a number of new models on show.

Two new premium estate cars will be premiered – the V70 and the XC70, as well as the XC60 concept.

The new V70 "redefines Volvo’s leadership of this segment", according to the manufacturer, by adding more luxury, style and refinement than its predecessor.

Volvo’s XC70 is described as "rugged and capable", with an "individual style", incorporating all-wheel drive technology and higher ground clearance as well as the normal practical features of an estate car.

Both of these models will benefit from a range of powerful five- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

Following its world premiere in Detroit in January, the XC60 concept will come to Europe this year.

Describing the car, Volvo said: "This charismatic crossover vehicle integrates both the unmistakable, muscular XC-versatility and the sporty charisma of a coupe."
