New Defender celebrates Land Rover anniversary

Land Rover is to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a new edition of one of its most famous cars.

The Defender SVX has been unveiled by the firm at this week’s British Red Cross Ball in London, with Zara Phillips lifting the curtain on the vehicle.

According to the company, this edition of the popular model is the most stylish and feature-ridden ever manufactured.

Phil Popham, managing director of Land Rover, stated that the brand’s cars have changed significantly over the years, but are still practical and “will enable you to go almost anywhere”.

“For those who want the ultimate Defender, we thought that the SVX special edition would be an ideal way to mark Land Rover’s 60th birthday,” he said.

The automaker was initially formed by Rover in 1948, although it has since been bought out by US vehicle manufacturer Ford.

Its headquarters can be found in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
