New version of used Ford Focus is a ‘serious high-performance car’

A new version of the used Ford Focus models that many motorists will be buying this year has been described as "a serious performance car".

The Ford Focus RS will be debuted at the Geneva Motor Show next month following previews of the model at shows in London and Paris last year, the Auto Channel reports.

Representing the return of Ford’s RS brand after six years, the new car is available in three colours, including its signature ‘ultimate green’, and combines affordability, practicality and performance, according to the automaker.

Jost Capito, Ford’s director for global performance vehicles, said: "The new Focus RS is a serious high-performance car – as much a car for driving enthusiasts as the one before it and classic Ford RS models of the past.

"We’re staying true to the core RS principles of an exciting yet affordable high-performance road car you can live with every day."

Powering the new model is a turbocharged 2.5-litre engine capable of producing up to 300bhp and a 0-62mph time of 5.9 seconds.

Other characteristics of the car include rally-style, 19-inch alloy wheels each with an RS logo and Recaro sports seats.

Drivers on the lookout for a used Ford Focus can choose from existing models of the car such as the Focus Zetec, the Studio or the coupe-cabriolet version.
