Halfords to hold Driving Tests

The DSA (Driving Standards Agency) has announced that from autumn of this year automotive retailer Halfords will become official venues for Driving Tests.

DSA examiners will conduct the practical element of the modern car test at Halfords. A move on which Road Safety Minister, Mike Penning, commented:

“It is vital that public services are as open and accessible as possible. This initiative is a great example of how working with partners in the public and private sectors can help to ensure that we offer people the best possible service wherever they live.”

David Wild, Halfords CEO, added:

“We want to help motorists wherever we can, so we look forward to working in partnership with the DSA to provide a first class service for drivers taking their tests.”

21 Halfords locations in Glasgow, Kettering, Manchester, Watford and Worcestershire will hold the tests. Learner drivers will also be able to take their test at a fire station while several universities are also thought to be being considered.
