M25 Closures Feb 2025

Further M25 closures announced

  • Two full motorway closures in March
  • Junction 10 exit & entry slips closed for weekend in February
  • AA advises drivers to expect delays if heading to London airports

17 February 2025

The AA is advising drivers of upcoming closures of the M25 in the Surrey area around the junction with the A3.

As part of the upgrade works to junction 10 (Wisley), there will be some closures of exit and entry slip roads and two full motorway closures over the next few weeks.

  • Friday 21 – Monday 24 February–All slip roads off M25 Junction 10 will be closed for the weekend. You will be able to drive through the junction on both the M25 and the A3 but you won’t be able to leave or join there.
  • Friday 7 – Monday 10 March– The M25 will be closed in both directions between junction 10 for Wisley and junction 11 for Woking
  • Friday 21 – Monday 24 March – The M25 will be closed in both directions between junction 10 for Wisley and junction 11 for Woking
  • This is one of the busiest stretches of the M25, and is used by many drivers to get to Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

Due to these works, local roads surrounding junction 10 and the Wisley stretch of the A3 are expected to see a major uplift in traffic.

Shaun Jones, AA Patrol of the Year, said: “As one of the busiest stretches of the M25 is subject to road works, we urge drivers to plan their journeys in advance by downloading the AA RoutePlanner and to allow plenty of extra time for their journeys.

“We advise drivers to avoid the west side of the M25 if possible, but if unavoidable to expect delays and stick to the detour routes.

“Prepare your vehicle before setting off by checking oil and coolant levels, tyres and make sure you have enough fuel or electric charge to cover the planned diversions.”

The works to improve junction 10 by adding extra lanes has been in place since 2022, and had been scheduled to be completed by this summer, however, around nine months of “extreme” weather during the project has delayed completion until Spring 2026.

Following these two closures there are no further planned closures of the M25 main carriageway.
