Isn’t battery replacement something I could do myself?

Batteries may look alike – but don’t be fooled by their appearance. They differ in capacity, output, performance and technology – so choosing the correct one for your vehicle shouldn’t be left to chance.

Even if you do know which battery to buy, fitting replacement batteries is now a specialist job. Many modern vehicles manufacturers insist on replacement batteries being coded to their own Battery Energy Management (BEM) system while some recommend the use of a memory saver to stop the vehicle’s computers losing their data.

Unlike many local garages, our mobile patrols carry the latest industry leading battery testers which use Conductance technology to measure the health of your battery. They can tell if there’s a vehicle fault that may be draining the battery or a problem with your charging system.

How good are the batteries you fit?
Our batteries come from a leading battery manufacturer. They have a 5-year warranty, and can usually be fitted at a location and time of your choice.
What happens if I call Battery Assist?
We’ll come to you when and where it suits you

We'll check to see if your battery needs replacing or just charging and, if you do need a new battery, we’ll supply and fit it for you, disposing of the old one in an environmentally-friendly way.
How much does it cost?

There are two elements to the cost: firstly, the costs of charging or fitting a new battery and disposing of the old one and secondly – if needed – the cost of a new battery.

  • If you’re a Member, and have At Home cover, we’ll fit your battery and dispose of the old one free of charge.
  • If you’re a Member, and don’t have At Home cover, we’ll do exactly the same for £10.
  • If you’re not yet a Member, you can still call us and we’ll fit your battery and dispose of the old one for £35.

The cost of the replacement battery, in each case, is additional.
