Organised by FIA Region I and ARC Europe, this elite training event brings together top road patrol teams from across Europe to raise the standard of roadside assistance services.

The AA team, comprising Patrol of the Year Shaun Jones and Patrol Trainer Nick Evers, demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism throughout the training and assessment sessions, securing a well-earned place among the top teams.

The event provides participants with hands-on experience using vehicles from various ARC Europe partner brands, focusing on common breakdown scenarios, advanced repair techniques, and emerging automotive technologies. Teams undergo rigorous training and assessments, culminating in certification and the coveted title of Road Patrol Team of the Year for the highest-scoring team.

In addition to competing, The AA played a pivotal role in delivering training to its European counterparts. Nick Foxall and Kevin Osmore from The AA’s Training Team, along with trainers representing Prolux, OAMTC, Touring, shared their expertise, contributing to the development of roadside excellence across the continent.

Mike Bedworth, AA Head of Road Operations, said: “This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in roadside assistance at home and abroad.

“We’re incredibly proud of Shaun, Nick, and our training team for representing The AA with distinction and helping raise the bar for service quality across Europe.”

Silver Medallist, Shaun Jones, said: “Nick and I are beyond proud to have achieved a place on the podium in this prestigious event. The competition and comradery amongst the contestants were both heartwarming and inspirational. The standards set by all involved were breathtaking.

“Teaming up with Nick Evers was especially poignant for me, as Nick was the very person who trained me to become an AA patrol, eight short years ago. With Nick having previously represented The AA at many levels in the UK and abroad, I couldn’t have wished for a better partner – He’s an absolute superstar.”

The AA remains dedicated to continuous improvement and collaboration, ensuring its patrol teams are equipped with the skills, equipment and knowledge to give confidence to drivers wherever and whenever they need help.
