A prototype of the new Porsche Panamera has been spotted on German roads this week, ahead of its scheduled launch in the UK in 2010.
With the codename of G1, the vehicle is set to be the manufacturer’s first four-seater saloon with a front-engine, reports Autocar.
Eagle-eyed snappers saw the Porsche on roads around Nurburgring, which is Germany’s famous motorsport circuit near Cologne.
And while Autocar said styling on the car looks almost complete, it is not forecast to be officially unveiled until 2009 at Frankfurt’s motor show, before being launched in Britain the following year.
It has some similarities to the classic 911 model, but Autocar notes that the Panamera will be spacious and have some 470 litres of boot space.
One of Porsche’s most recent models to hit the market was the Cayman – a two-door sports vehicle launched in 2006.
