Success continues for cee’d

The Kia motor company has just celebrated the 200,000th production model of the cee’d family of cars – achieved after just 18 months.

The Zilina factory, in Slovakia, which has received one billion euro investment in its environmental production processes and ambitious targets of 100 vehicles per employee per year, has also achieved a record single day’s production of the cee’d models – by manufacturing 915 units on Monday April 21st 2008.

Mr Paul Willis, chief operating officer at Kia Motors Europe, said: "Since the Kia cee’d’s launch in Europe in December 2006 and the UK in February 2007, the cee’d family, with its choice of five-door, three-door and wagon body styles, plus attractive styling, high quality and 5-Star EuroNCAP safety standards, has played a significant role in winning over thousands of new consumers to the Kia brand."

Kia has plans to launch a new eco-cee’d range from December 2008 which will incorporate ‘fuel-stretching’ technology as well as reducing the CO2 output of their new models.
