A West Midlands based team has won an internationally recognised award for customer service, beating competition from companies across Europe.
The AA’s dedicated Volkswagen Group team, based at the AA’s Centre of Excellence in Oldbury, won the gold award for ‘Best Small Contact Centre’ at the European Contact Centre and Customer Service Awards 2018.
The team of 64 customer service specialists impressed a panel of judges following a six-hour assessment, which included a detailed presentation and live call monitoring.
Gareth Kirkwood, Managing Director of AA roadside services, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement for our dedicated Volkswagen Group customer service specialists to have their hard work recognised with this award, which highlights the very best in customer service.”

The award was presented by Sir Ranulph Fiennes at a ceremony in London on 27 November.
The finalists for ‘Best Small Contact Centre’ were:
