Travel currency card application

What to do after you apply

After you've completed your Euro Card or GBP Card application, you'll receive a confirmation email or letter. Here are the next steps to follow before you can use your card.

Additional proof of identity
We may ask you to provide additional proof of identity, as all financial providers are required to do this to help avoid fraudulent applications. If we need to ask for additional proof of identity it may take a few extra days to get your card. Please scan and send 2 of the following documents to: [email protected]

  • photo page of your passport or driving licence
  • a vehicle registration certificate, council tax or utility bill, housing benefit or tax credit entitlement document, a mortgage or credit card statement

If you prefer, you can post colour copies of these documents to: Customer Service, AA Travel Currency Card, PO Box 3753, Chester CH1 9UH. Do not send originals.

After we receive your documents, we'll contact you to confirm your registration.

We'll post your currency card
We'll send your currency card by post, to arrive within 7-10 days of your application.
Contact us for your PIN
Have your card handy.

Either

Retrieve your PIN from our online services: go to the travel currency card log-in page, and log in to the travel currency online services.

Or

Retrieve your PIN by phone: call 0207 070 4902 and follow the automated telephone instructions. You can ask for your PIN to be repeated as many times as you need, to ensure that you hear it correctly.
Load money on to your card
You should now load money on to your card. There are several options available, but we recommend that you link your travel currency account to your personal bank account and do a bank transfer. This is free, and you can load up to £2,000 in one transaction.

If your bank uses faster payments, funds will be available on the next working day. Otherwise it can take up to 3 working days.

Follow these steps to link your travel currency card to your bank account. You will only need to do this once, and then you will be able to top up the money on your travel card easily when ever you want to.

Log in to the online servicing facility of your own personal bank account. Follow the instructions to set up a new payee. This is the information you will need to do this.
