The AA is launching a new, online cooking competition – the AA Home Cooking Competition – aimed at amateur but aspiring cooks.

This unique competition provides the opportunity for passionate home cooks to showcase their skills and creativity. Just like the famous AA Rosettes – awarded only to the highest quality chefs and restaurants – participants will be judged on their attention to detail, flavour combinations and mix of culinary traditions and originality.

Entrants can register from Monday 21st September at where they'll find a pre-selected list of ingredients chosen by Chris Galvin, Chef Patron at Galvin at Windows, Hilton Park Lane. They then have until 30th October to create, practise and finally submit their chosen dish.

Eight finalists will be invited to a cook-off finale at Westminster College in front of a distinguished panel of judges including Chris Galvin, Andre Garrett, Head Chef at Galvin at Windows, Gary Rhodes (all AA Rosette holders) and an AA Inspector.

Chris Galvin comments:

There are plenty of confident cooks out there who share our enthusiasm for creating great dishes. The AA Home Cooking Competition is an exciting new platform and gives people the chance to show us what they can do. I'm really looking forward to seeing just what UK home cooks are capable of creating and welcoming the winner to work alongside me as they re-create their dish at Galvin at Windows."

The 'money-can't-buy' first prize is to cook the winning dish at Galvin at Windows at the London Hilton on Park Lane alongside Chris Galvin, for three friends who will watch at the pass. The winner also receives a 2 day all expenses trip to the Champagne region of France, with a private tasting courtesy of Pommery and an AA Rosette trophy.

All finalists receive a chef's jacket from Bragard and a CCS chef's knife.
