Representatives from The AA, which has a long-standing relationship with Chesterfield College, were on hand to lend their support to two exceptional students as they received awards for achieving excellence last week.

Aaliyah French and Alicia-Mai Wright, have been recognised for their outstanding achievements in automotive training, marking a proud moment for the local education and automotive communities.

“The AA is proud of its connections with the further education sector and is delighted to lend its support to this event”
Shaun Baugh, AA Patrol Performance Leader

Aaliyah was awarded Best Student, while Alicia-Mai received the Best Endeavour award. Both students successfully completed the Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, as well as the IMI Level 2 Award in Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Systems, demonstrating their commitment to excellence and innovation in a rapidly evolving industry.

Their dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. As part of their recognition, The AA contributed £100 in vouchers to each student. In addition, Euro Car Parts, Sheffield, generously donated professional toolboxes to support their future careers, further acknowledging their achievements and helping them take the next step in their professional journeys.

Shaun Baugh, AA Patrol Performance Leader, said: “The AA is proud of its connections with the further education sector and is delighted to lend its support to this event and to other student presentations across the UK. The vast majority of our patrols started their careers in a similar way to Aaliyah and Alicia, working hard to achieve excellent qualifications and taking the knowledge gained from their coursework into real-world situations.

“These awards not only celebrate the individual success of these outstanding students but also highlight the importance of skilled training and support in preparing the next generation of automotive professionals.”

Congratulations to Aaliyah and Alicia-Mai on their well-deserved recognition!
