* How to redeem your cover

Key Cover

Key Cover can be purchased as an add-on to your breakdown policy. Go to your account or chat to us using the pop up on this page to add this. All your keys and any people named on your policy will be covered.

Key Insurance

To qualify for free Key Insurance you must be a Gold member. To redeem this benefit, chat to us and send the message 'Activate my key insurance' to get started. You'll be asked to confirm your details to check you're eligible.

We'll send you a key fob to attach to your keys. You must attach it to complete activation, otherwise claims won't be accepted.

If you haven't received your fob within 14 days, get in touch on 0345 303 4023. You'll need your membership number to hand.

Additional key fobs

If you'd like to protect more than one set of keys with Key Insurance, you can buy additional key fobs.

If you have joint or family cover, you can order fobs to cover other people named on your policy:

Joint – maximum of 2 fobs
Family – up to 4 fobs, depending on the number of people named on your policy

If you have single personal cover, you can buy an additional fob at a discount.

Key Insurance

Key Insurance is available for Gold members only.
To activate Key Insurance and to be eligible to make a claim, you must attach your keys to the fob provided.
AA Key Insurance is administered by Keycare Limited and the Insurer is AA Underwriting Insurance Company Limited.
AA Key Insurance is arranged by Automobile Association Insurance Services Limited (AAIS) which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
