Eclectic global cooking in central York

Wines by the glass

Since opening in July 2016, Skosh has made a big splash on the local and national food radar. Occupying a former shop in central York, a slate grey and vivid yellow colour scheme adds a bright and cheery vibe, as does the jeans and T-shirt attire of the relaxed staff. The restaurant’s name is Japanese slang for ‘a small amount’, which explains the small plate concept, with wildly eclectic global influences found in the vibrant dishes. A pressing of Galician octopus with nduja, black olive and preserved lemon might make way for grilled kebabs of mackerel and eel ‘kabayaki', kohlrabi, oyster cream, lime and vanilla.
