The Fletcher-Brewer family converted a terrace of lead miners' cottages into the comfortable, relaxed and unstuffy place we see today. Inside are antique-filled lounges and a smart restaurant, where picture windows give spectacular views over Cardigan Bay to Snowdonia. Louise Fletcher-Brewer oversees the kitchen with assurance, her repertoire combining traditional values and more modern sensibilities. Start with chicken and foie gras galantine with Waldorf salad dressed with blue cheese, and go on to grilled sea bass fillet with a warm salad of rocket, artichokes, tomatoes and red onion, pearl potatoes and a herb dressing. End with comforting cheesecake with cherry compôte and vanilla ice cream.
