Built in 1913 for a local brewer, this turreted house was quickly nicknamed 'Screw Top Mansion' by locals when the brewery began using such beer bottles. Today's mature, sub-tropical gardens offer glimpses of the sea, from where The Brasserie's kitchen sources the key ingredients for pan-seared Cornish scallops, Falmouth Bay lobster and Manor fish pie. From Cornwall's terra firma comes attractively presented crispy chicken breast, confit leg and pressed skin with poached oyster, fried egg yolk and potato cake. Other possibilities include grilled steaks, and green garden herb and grain salad with oven-baked squash and roasted cauliflower. Round off with chocolate orange fondant and Cointreau ice cream.
